Mainly Notes To Self - A weekly rundown of stuff worth sharing.
Gentlemen. Welcome to the 45th edition of MNTS.
It’s been too long since my last dispatch. My prior concept for this newsletter was overly restraining; my self-enforced standards had me in a state of paralysis. Therefore, I’m changing the format once again. I’m pivoting to something quicker and dirtier, a weekly smorgasbord, if you will. I’ll figure this format out eventually.
Without further adieu.
Let’s eat!
I spent $58 on French butter and have zero remorse. This did, however, prompt us to try churning our own. TBC.
Handy reference and inspiration for your next landscaping project.
When Taleb talks, I listen. 90% of this one was too technical and way over my head, but there are a few gems.
I bought a handful of items in support of the re-launch. Sadly, three of the four items were lost in transit. The customer service team was A+ and happily sent me replacements (still en route). Their product archive is also worth flicking through.
Currently reading Authentic by Paul Van Doren. It's hokey, but as a So Cal native, I’m loving every page of it.
Mettleist swag is coming soon! Early subscribers will get a complimentary care package. More to come on this topic.
Joss Naylor Obit - Absolute legend.
Quote I saved. More books.
“One more thing is of vital importance; children must have books, living books; the best are not too good for them; anything less than the best is not good enough; and if it is needful to exercise economy, let go everything that belongs to soft and luxurious living before letting go the duty of supplying the books, and the frequent changes of books, which are necessary for the constant stimulation of the child's intellectual life.”
― Charlotte Mason
Song I’m jamming to.
A few snaps from the camera roll
That’s a wrap on 45. Hit reply and let me know what you liked (or didn’t like).
Until next week.
Stay spirited, stay resilient.
